Hydrologist / Water Supply and Sanitation Engineer Consultant

About the role

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) seeks an experienced Hydrogeologist / Water and Sanitation Engineer to provide independent technical expertise for rural drinking‑water facilities in Lome, Togo. The consultant will work on a milestone‑triggered basis, supporting the Lead Construction Supervision Engineer in delivering high‑quality, safe, and donor‑compliant water infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Review hydrogeological data and assess water‑source suitability for boreholes and rain‑water harvesting systems.
• Design and validate water‑supply and sanitation solutions, including solar‑powered pumping systems.
• Support construction verification and quality‑control activities for drinking‑water facilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health and sanitation (ESHS) standards throughout the project.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations at defined critical project stages.

Required profile

• University degree in Hydrogeology, Water Resources, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Proven experience in rural water‑supply and sanitation projects, preferably in West Africa.
• Knowledge of borehole drilling, pump selection, and solar‑powered water systems.
• Ability to work onsite in field conditions and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
