Immunization Specialist (Fixed‑Term) – Lome, Togo

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Immunization Specialist to lead and support the national immunization programme in Lome, Togo. The role combines technical leadership, programme planning, and gender‑responsive implementation to help achieve UNICEF’s immunization goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership for the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration of the country’s immunization programme.
• Integrate gender‑analysis and gender‑disaggregation into all programme activities and ensure gender mainstreaming.
• Conduct sectoral analysis, contribute to situation analyses and update sex‑disaggregated data for effective project planning.
• Develop and support immunization strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Establish work plans, deliver technical support, and ensure timely achievement of results.
• Monitor programme progress, evaluate performance, and recommend adjustments to improve delivery and sustainability.
• Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building to government officials, NGOs and beneficiaries throughout the programme cycle.
• Strengthen UNICEF country‑office staff capacity in immunization programme management.
• Ensure accountability for supply and non‑supply assistance and oversee disbursement of programme funds.
• Foster effective partnerships and collaboration with government and development partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing national immunization or EPI programmes.
• Strong understanding of gender‑responsive programming and ability to apply gender analysis.
• Experience working with government ministries, NGOs and international partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and provide capacity‑building support.
• Excellent analytical, monitoring and evaluation skills.
