About the role
The Agricultural Business Development Supervisor will lead the identification, qualification and onboarding of clients for agricultural commodities. Working remotely, you will expand market reach, build a global network of verified buyers and sellers, and ensure compliant, profitable trade transactions.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new clients for commodities such as grains, rice, pulses, oilseeds and soft commodities across regional and international markets.
- Conduct market research on demand trends, pricing structures and buyer/seller requirements.
- Screen and verify clients through KYC, KYB and due‑diligence processes, assessing financial capacity and trade credibility.
- Maintain a structured database of active, prospective and dormant clients and nurture long‑term commercial relationships.
- Support negotiations on volumes, specifications, pricing, Incoterms and payment terms while coordinating with logistics, finance, legal and compliance teams.
- Ensure all engagements comply with AML, sanctions, trade regulations and internal risk frameworks.
- Prepare regular reports on pipeline, conversion rates, active contracts and regional performance.
- Develop and continuously improve SOPs for client sourcing and relationship management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Agriculture, Supply Chain or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in agricultural commodity trading, business development or client acquisition.
- Proven track record of building and managing a diversified client network.
- Strong understanding of KYC/KYB, AML and trade compliance requirements.
Required skills
- Knowledge of KYC/KYB verification processes.
- Familiarity with AML, sanctions and trade regulation compliance.
- Experience drafting and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
