Managing Director – Togo & Benin

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking an innovative and results‑oriented Managing Director to lead its agency operations across Togo and Benin. The role carries full P&L responsibility and is accountable for driving market expansion, profitability, operational excellence, and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead agency performance across sales, customer service and operations, achieving commercial budgets while maintaining cost discipline.
• Resolve business challenges proactively, manage working capital, cash flow and debtor control to ensure financial stability.
• Own full P&L for agency and principal operations, formulate and execute business strategies, and deliver the agency scorecard against agreed KPIs.
• Evaluate and improve business processes, champion standardisation and best practices aligned with regional directives.
• Optimize team headcount, foster a high‑performance culture through coaching, develop a sustainable talent pipeline and succession plan.
• Ensure full compliance with local tax, labour and regulatory requirements while embodying PIL’s core values.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in shipping, logistics or related maritime sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage full P&L responsibility and drive profitable growth.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding budget targets.
• Experience in business development, strategic planning and operational optimisation.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop multicultural teams.
• Commitment to governance, compliance and corporate ethics.
