Area Sales Manager – Togo & Benin

About the role

PORTWEST, a global leader in safety wear, workwear and PPE, is looking for an energetic Area Sales Manager to cover the Togo and Benin territories. You will be responsible for expanding our distribution network, building strong relationships with distributors and end‑users, and driving sales growth for our product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality relationships with new and existing distributor accounts.
• Conduct daily face‑to‑face sales meetings across the territory.
• Identify new business opportunities and create actionable sales plans.
• Apply solution‑based selling strategies to win and grow accounts.
• Target high‑potential existing customers and map out development road‑maps.
• Deliver consultative selling by assessing customer needs and proposing Portwest solutions.
• Prepare clear proposals and quotations for prospects and current clients.
• Present new Portwest products, bringing samples to each meeting.
• Ensure diligent follow‑up after meetings to close sales.
• Gather market intelligence and support marketing events such as trade shows and seminars.
• Drive growth in target industry segments and designated sales channels.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of sales experience in PPE, workwear or safety wear (preferred).
• Experience selling for a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or agency.
• Proven ability to design and execute aggressive sales expansion plans.
• Strong business acumen with a focus on delivering bottom‑line results.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Positive, winning attitude and a collaborative team player.
