Country Manager – West Africa

About the role

Lapaire, a fast‑growing pan‑African optical retail group, is looking for a dynamic Country Manager to lead its operations in Togo. Based in Lomé, you will be responsible for driving growth, overseeing all functional teams and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality eye‑care services across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Own the country P&L and annual budget, regularly reviewing financial performance against targets.
• Develop and execute the sales and development strategy in line with group objectives.
• Plan and manage the opening of new stores together with the COO.
• Identify and engage key partners to expand Lapaire’s market presence.
• Lead, motivate and develop the local Operations, Marketing and Admin/HR teams.
• Conduct recruitment, onboarding and training to build a high‑performing workforce.
• Gather market and customer insights to adapt marketing and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with Group Marketing and Communications to localise campaigns.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations, external relationships and reporting to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a country or regional business, preferably in retail or health‑care.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive growth and operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, comfortable working with multicultural teams.
• Fluent in English; French language skills are a plus.
