Day Crew Mobilization Manager

About the role

Mercy Ships, a global faith-based charity that brings surgical care and medical training to communities along the African coast, is looking for an experienced Day Crew Mobilization Manager for its People and Culture team in Togo. The role leads the planning, coordination and execution of Day Crew mobilization for field services, preparing about 250-300 local volunteers so they can serve while the ship is in field service. It reports to the Senior Director of Ship People & Culture Operations and works closely with the Field Service Advance Team on in-country logistics such as housing, transport, visas and local contacts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run Day Crew recruitment in line with approved workforce requirements, priorities and field service milestones, liaising with the Senior Director of Ship P&C Operations
• Oversee the recruitment process from candidate attraction and application through selection, screening, documentation and preparation, ensuring fair and professional practices
• Coordinate pre-service screening, clearance and driving assessments, and keep recruitment records and documentation complete and accurate in Ship P&C systems
• Lead and supervise the Day Crew Recruitment team, setting responsibilities and monitoring workload and progress
• Partner with the Field Service Advance Team on housing, transport, visas, venues and local contacts
• Ensure records are uploaded before handover, support orientation after the vessel arrives, and capture lessons learned for future cycles
• Uphold Mercy Ships' Core Values, Code of Conduct and confidentiality, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar (the text is cut off)
• Strong Christian commitment and supportive of Mercy Ships' mission and core values
• Willingness to live in Togo and work remotely at times, with stable interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
• Effective written and verbal communication, including as a public speaker
• Ability to motivate a diverse team, manage time under limited supervision and solve problems independently
• Must be in-country by October 26, 2026
