Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Excel Specialist to lead our data operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will transform raw data into actionable business intelligence for finance, marketing and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and reporting.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual reports and train remote cross‑functional teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Data cleaning, validation and merging techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL databases or data‑visualisation principles.
