Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations, turning raw numbers into actionable business intelligence for finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa. The role is fully remote and involves building advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards and interactive templates from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Build dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models to support senior management decisions.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into clear visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across African time zones.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA programming and macro development.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and basic SQL database concepts.
• Data‑visualisation principles and best practices.
