Social & Behavior Change Officer (Temporary, Lome, Togo)

About the role
The Social & Behavior Change Officer will support UNICEF’s immunisation programmes in Togo by designing, implementing and evaluating evidence‑based social and behaviour change (SBC) strategies. Working under the Chief of the SBC Section, the officer will collaborate with sectoral specialists, partners and stakeholders in both development and humanitarian contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Generate and analyse research, data and evidence to inform SBC programme design, measurement and monitoring.
- Design, plan and implement inclusive SBC activities that are grounded in social and behavioural evidence.
- Advocate for SBC, mobilise resources, coordinate across sectors and build partnerships to operationalise SBC interventions.
- Promote continuous learning and scaling of SBC approaches through capacity‑building for UNICEF staff and partners.
Required profile
- University degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in a social or behavioural science such as sociology, anthropology, communication for development, psychology or a related field.
- Minimum two years of professional experience in social development programme planning, communication for development, SBC or public advocacy.
- Experience in humanitarian contexts and programme planning.
- Fluency in French; knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese or English) is desirable.
