Healthcare Materials Manager

About the role

The Materials Manager will oversee the inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials that keep our surgical center running smoothly. This position ensures that all items are received, tracked, and distributed efficiently while supporting cost‑saving initiatives and compliance with procurement standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily inventory of surgical supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and distribute items to appropriate locations.
• Track backorders, prepare documentation for leadership review, and lead physical inventory processes.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, support product trials, and conduct cost analyses.
• Source pricing and quotes for medical supplies and ensure compliance with acquisition and disposal policies.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of damaged equipment to minimize disruption.
• Communicate operational updates regularly with leadership and the Administrator.
• Provide additional support, including assisting in the operating room when needed.

Required profile

• High school graduate or Certified Surgical Tech.
• At least 6 months of experience in materials management within an operating‑room environment.
• Healthcare experience required; orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong computer and organizational abilities.
