Area Sales Manager – Togo & Benin

About the role

Portwest, a global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE, is looking for an Area Sales Manager to develop its business in Togo and Benin. You will be responsible for building and expanding distribution channels, promoting the company’s product range and driving sales growth across the territory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new distributors and strengthen relationships with existing accounts.
• Conduct regular face‑to‑face meetings with distributors and end‑users to understand needs and present solutions.
• Develop and execute sales plans, including market intelligence, trade‑show participation and promotional activities.
• Prepare clear proposals and quotations, present product samples and follow up to close deals.
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to align strategies and achieve regional targets.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of sales experience in PPE, workwear or safety‑wear environments.
• Proven ability to sell on behalf of a manufacturer, distributor or agency.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a consultative selling approach.
• Right to live and work in the relevant jurisdiction.

Required skills

• Experience drafting sales proposals and quotations.
• Ability to conduct market research and develop sales plans.
