Grocery Team Leader

About the role

Meijer is seeking a Grocery Team Leader to oversee daily operations across multiple store departments. You will mentor and coach team members, drive sales, and ensure a fast, friendly shopping experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in various store departments.
• Mentor, coach, and train staff to meet Meijer service standards.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and increase sales.
• Maintain store appearance, product presentation, and compliance with company standards.
• Handle staffing, hiring, and succession planning.
• Apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations for terminations.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets, and control shrink.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of retail experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Experience rotating through departments such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service is helpful.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
