Immunization Specialist (Fixed‑Term, NO‑3)

About the role

The Immunization Specialist will provide professional leadership for UNICEF’s immunization programme in Togo, working closely with the Child Survival and Development, Maternal and Child Health, and Health and Nutrition components. This fixed‑term position (NO‑3) is based in Lome and contributes directly to achieving UNICEF’s immunization goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the national immunization programme.
• Ensure gender‑responsive programming through gender‑disaggregated data analysis and mainstreaming.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to government officials, NGOs and beneficiaries.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to integrate immunization strategies into broader health initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, prepare situation analyses and adjust plans to improve delivery and sustainability.
• Oversee accountability for supply and non‑supply assistance, including fund disbursement.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in public health, medicine, nursing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in immunization programme management, preferably in a low‑resource setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and international partners.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on gender‑responsive data.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) guidelines.
• Experience in programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Capacity‑building and training facilitation skills.
