Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

About the role

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will support daily nursing practice in a long‑term care and community home‑care setting, ensuring care meets governing standards and internal policies. This part‑time position requires reliable transportation to provide care in residents' homes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide care in accordance with established nursing standards, physicians’ orders and administrative policies.
• Observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents.
• Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review and evaluate care plans.
• Monitor health status, note changes, and coordinate referrals to physicians as needed.

Required profile

• Current certificate of competence and registration (or eligibility) with the province’s approved nursing body.
• Previous managerial experience in long‑term care or community home‑care (preferred).
• Experience working with cognitively impaired individuals.
• Strong knowledge of infection‑control practices and overall health‑care procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Organizational, planning, time‑management and multi‑tasking abilities.
