Maintenance Custodian – Plant Facility Cleaner

About the role

We are looking for a dependable Maintenance Custodian to keep our plant facilities clean, safe, and orderly. You will work independently to perform routine cleaning, floor care, restroom upkeep, and waste management across the manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and general condition of all plant areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and clean assigned zones.
• Strip and wax floors as required.
• Clean and maintain bathrooms, showers, break rooms, kitchens, and other common spaces.
• Empty trash, follow proper waste‑disposal and recycling procedures.
• Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals correctly.
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the Facility Engineer.
• Complete special cleaning projects as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience cleaning commercial or manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a safe environment.
• Effective communication skills across all organization levels.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 60 lb, and perform repetitive motions for 8‑10 hours daily.

Required skills

• Operation of floor stripping and waxing equipment.
• Use of industrial cleaning tools and chemicals.
