Manufacturing General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will lead a small manufacturing firm, setting strategic direction and driving growth, profitability and operational excellence. This senior role oversees all functions—from sales and engineering to production, safety and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute long-term company policies, revenue targets and market expansion plans.
• Lead sales strategy, customer engagement and new-product development to achieve top-line growth.
• Oversee engineering, manufacturing and operations, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety standards.
• Champion Lean Six Sigma and other continuous-improvement projects to reduce costs and boost productivity.
• Manage full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Direct department leaders across sales, engineering, quality, materials and manufacturing, providing coaching and succession planning.
• Partner with corporate Shared Services (HR, Payroll, Accounting, IT, Safety) to ensure compliance and alignment.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Support innovation by collaborating with engineering and sales teams to create customer-focused solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong financial acumen with full P&L, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and market expansion.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing shared-service partnerships.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous-improvement cultures.
