Director, National Innovation Agency

About the role

The Director will lead the newly created National Innovation Agency in Togo, shaping the country’s innovation strategy and overseeing a flagship Tech Hub that drives research, entrepreneurship and digital talent development. This senior position works closely with the Ministry of Public Service Efficiency and Digital Transformation to translate bold digital‑transformation goals into concrete programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the national innovation strategy in alignment with Togo’s digital transformation agenda.
• Coordinate a network of ecosystem actors, including government bodies, private sector partners, academia and civil society.
• Lead the Tech Hub as a centre of excellence, managing research, startup incubation, and talent‑building initiatives.
• Oversee a nationwide knowledge network linking innovation pods across all 117 municipalities, providing business advisory, training and market intelligence.
• Monitor and evaluate priority programmes, ensuring they deliver measurable impact for citizens and businesses.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in innovation, digital transformation or technology‑focused public‑sector programmes.
• Deep understanding of ecosystem development, entrepreneurship support and talent cultivation.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to work with high‑level government officials and diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and change‑management skills.
