Food Service Associate – Full & Part Time

About the role

The Food Service Associate works under the direction of the Chef Manager to provide meal and snack service for residents and patients at the Douglas County Health Center. This position is available in both full‑time and part‑time schedules, offering a steady hourly wage of $16.78.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble resident/patient trays with pre‑made foods and beverages, verify accuracy, and load trays onto carts.
• Deliver tray carts to dining rooms according to schedule and retrieve them after meals.
• Prepare and deliver late trays, special orders, and rotating snack items while discarding expired products.
• Document dish machine and refrigerator temperatures and perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of the work area.
• Store clean dishes, sweep and mop kitchen floors, and perform assigned cleaning duties.
• Report unsafe conditions, attend safety training, and comply with all health, safety, and privacy regulations.
• Assist with new employee orientation and participate in quality assessment activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma, equivalent, or current high school enrollment.
• At least six (6) months of food service or customer service experience.
• Age 16 years or older.
• Food Handler Serve Clean certification obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed every two years.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment criminal background check, physical assessment, and conditional drug screen.
