Healthcare Materials Manager

About the role

The Materials Manager will oversee the inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials that keep our surgical center running smoothly. This role ensures that all items are received, tracked, and distributed efficiently while supporting cost‑saving initiatives and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and distribute items to appropriate locations.
• Track backorders, prepare documentation for leadership review, and manage automated inventory systems.
• Lead physical inventory counts and complete required reporting.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, conduct cost analyses, and maintain savings documentation.
• Source pricing and quotes for medical supplies and equipment, ensuring procurement compliance.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of damaged equipment to minimize operational disruption.
• Communicate operational updates regularly with leadership and the Administrator.
• Provide additional support, including assisting in the operating room when needed.

Required profile

• High school graduate or Certified Surgical Technician.
• At least 6 months of experience in materials management within an operating‑room environment.
• Healthcare experience is required; orthopedic experience is preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency and excellent organizational abilities.
