Registered Nurse OR Circulator (PRN)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – OR Circulator (PRN) provides comprehensive patient care throughout the pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases for surgical patients. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor, the RN ensures safe, efficient turnover and supports the surgical team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Perform pre‑operative communication, patient history, pain assessment and documentation.
• Maintain aseptic technique, verify patient identity, and ensure correct surgical site marking.
• Count surgical instruments and supplies accurately and document case counts.
• Assist with blood product handling and verification.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs and respond to emergencies.
• Adjust care plans based on ongoing patient data and family goals.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
