About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex, high‑performance software solutions for Ecobank’s 34 affiliates. This role combines deep technical expertise with mentorship and strategic planning responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure microservices, APIs and distributed systems.
Provide technical direction, enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews and mentor associate and software engineers.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and other stakeholders to deliver features on schedule using Agile practices.
Troubleshoot complex issues, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement in development processes.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
5–8+ years of hands‑on software development experience, with proven senior or technical leadership experience.
Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, with ability to work independently and own projects.

Required skills

Programming languages: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript.
Frameworks/tools: Spring Boot, Django.NET, Angular, React, Kotlin, Vue.js.
System design: microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, distributed systems.
Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra.
Messaging: JMS Queue, Kafka, Rabbit MQ.
DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI.
Testing & debugging: automated testing frameworks and debugging tools.
