Solar Power Systems / Electro‑Mechanical Engineer Consultant

About the role

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) seeks an experienced Solar Power Systems / Electro‑Mechanical Engineer Consultant to provide independent technical expertise for solar‑powered water pumping installations in rural Togo. The consultant will work on critical milestones of a Korea‑funded development project, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and donor‑compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate designs of solar‑powered pumping systems for drinking‑water facilities.
• Provide electro‑mechanical engineering input during installation and commissioning phases.
• Conduct on‑site inspections at defined critical stages and verify construction quality.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, and security (ESHS) standards.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for the Lead Construction Supervision Engineer.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and local contractors.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy or related engineering field.
• Proven experience in solar power system design, installation, and commissioning.
• Background in electro‑mechanical engineering for rural infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with donor‑funded development projects and quality‑assurance procedures.
• Willingness to work onsite in Lome, Togo for the project duration.
