Sterile Processing Tech

About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring that reusable surgical instruments and equipment are safely decontaminated, assembled, packaged, sterilized, stored, and distributed for use in the operating room. This role supports patient safety and the efficiency of surgical services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform decontamination and thorough cleaning of surgical instruments.
• Assemble, package, and label instruments according to established protocols.
• Operate sterilization equipment and conduct scanning to verify sterility.
• Store sterilized instruments and manage inventory for timely distribution.
• Maintain accurate records of processing cycles and equipment maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the sterile processing department.

Required profile

• Ability to follow strict infection‑control and safety procedures.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Physical capability to handle instrument trays and operate processing equipment.
