Surgical Technician – Part Time

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Surgical Technician to join a fast‑paced ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The position works Tuesday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays, and supports surgeons and nurses in delivering safe, efficient surgical care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, drapes, and solutions for each procedure.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and transport to the operating room.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons, retract tissue, cut sutures, and perform other duties under physician supervision.
• Conduct equipment safety checks, participate in sponge and instrument counts, and manage specimen handling.
• Maintain physician preference cards, inventory, and assist with decontamination, sterilization, and quality testing.
• Clean, restock, and set up the procedure room for upcoming cases.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military/federal training.
• Preferably 1–2 years of clinical experience in an operating room; 0–2 years may be considered.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and able to perform CPR.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or turn patients as needed.
