Part-Time Charge Nurse – Operating Room

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to lead our Operating Room team on a part‑time basis. The role combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide age‑appropriate, safe patient care using strong clinical judgment and adherence to nursing standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, deliver exceptional customer service, and enforce safety, infection‑control, and emergency‑preparedness protocols.
• Accurately document care, participate in performance‑improvement activities, and follow accreditation standards.
• Delegate tasks, solve problems, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Adapt to staffing and scheduling needs while serving as a role model for peers and new staff.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state and active BCLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year in a management position and 3 years of OR experience (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• General math concepts.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
