Board Member (Pro Bono)

About the role

SkillOunce is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors on a pro‑bono basis. The role offers a unique chance to shape the strategic direction of an early‑stage nonprofit focused on leveraging talent, ethics and interdisciplinary expertise to drive sustainable innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in Board of Directors meetings (at least four times per year) and contribute to strategic discussions.
• Provide interdisciplinary insights bridging design engineering, law, ethics, economics and finance.
• Help develop sustainable solutions that avoid climate‑negative models.
• Support fundraising and resource mobilization in line with the organization’s nonprofit mission.

Required profile

• Strong multidisciplinary background with practical knowledge in design engineering, economics, finance, human resources or intellectual property.
• Ability to translate design‑engineering methods across diverse sectors.
• Understanding of the distinction between skill‑based value, ethics and monetary representation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
