Surgical Technician (PRN) – Operating Room Support

About the role

The Surgical Technician (PRN) provides essential support to the operating room team, ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly and safely. Working under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses, you will prepare equipment, assist during operations, and help maintain a sterile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions before each case.
• Prepare patients by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites, and position them on the operating table.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, cut sutures, and count sponges, needles, and supplies during surgery.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transport for laboratory analysis.
• Transfer patients to recovery, clean, and restock the operating room after each procedure.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• CPR certified.
• 0‑2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or turn patients as needed.
• Strong concentration for up to four hours and clear verbal communication skills.

• Specimen handling and documentation.
• Basic computer use (keyboard and monitor).
