Materials Manager – Surgical Center

About the role

The Surgical Center is seeking a proactive Materials Manager to oversee the flow of supplies, equipment, and materials that keep daily operations running smoothly. This role ensures that clinicians have the right products at the right time while supporting cost‑effective procurement and inventory practices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of all surgical supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, distribute items to appropriate locations, and track backorders.
• Manage automated inventory tracking systems and lead physical inventory counts.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, conduct cost analyses, and document savings.
• Source pricing and quotes for medical supplies, ensuring compliance with procurement standards.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of damaged equipment to minimize disruption.
• Prepare regular reports and documentation for leadership review.
• Communicate operational updates to leadership and the Administrator.
• Provide occasional support in the operating room as needed.

Required profile

• High school graduate or Certified Surgical Tech.
• At least 6 months of materials management experience in an operating‑room setting.
• Orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong computer proficiency and organizational abilities.
