Part-Time Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Circulating Nurse

About the role

This part‑time position supports surgical patients throughout the pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases. The RN will work as a circulating nurse on orthopedic, total joint and spine cases, ensuring safe and efficient care without weekend, night, holiday or on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Perform pre‑operative communication, patient verification, and surgical site marking.
• Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs, managing surgical counts, and handling blood products.
• Maintain aseptic technique, ensure proper patient identification, and document all care accurately.
• Respond to emergencies and adjust care plans based on patient data.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum five years of experience in orthopedics, total joint, or spine surgery nursing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of JCAHO regulations, Patient Bill of Rights, and Nurse Practice Act.
