Part-Time Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Circulating Nurse

About the role

This part‑time position supports surgical teams by providing comprehensive nursing care to orthopaedic, total joint and spine patients throughout the pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Perform pre‑operative assessments, verify patient identity, surgical site marking and instrument counts.
• Maintain aseptic technique, assist the surgeon, and anticipate intra‑operative needs.
• Document patient history, pain assessments, and care plans accurately in the medical record.
• Communicate pertinent information to the care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies and follow legal and ethical nursing standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum five years of experience in orthopaedics, total joint or spine surgery.
