RN Pre-Op & Recovery (PRN) – Outpatient Surgery Center

About the role

We are seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide pre‑operative and recovery care in a high‑volume outpatient surgery center, primarily serving orthopedic patients. The RN will work closely with physicians and the clinical team to ensure safe, efficient same‑day surgeries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering nursing care to patients undergoing same‑day surgery.
• Assume full responsibility for patient care according to physician orders and center policies.
• Monitor and control the use of supplies, ensuring accurate charging.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, documenting all actions.
• Assess pain and nausea, providing appropriate medication and support.
• Discharge patients following facility protocols and provide psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology, and other departments for coordinated care.
• Participate in emergency situations, making quick, sound decisions.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to assess, develop, and implement comprehensive nursing care for post‑operative patients.
• Commitment to continuing education and maintaining licensure requirements.
